The successful applicant will oversee a settled, Ofsted-Good rated home that currently has 2 placements, under the guidance of an experienced manager. They will also register immediately for a new Solo provision. As the Responsible Individual, your responsibilities will include overseeing the strategic direction and quality assurance of two children's homes in South Manchester. You will be required to motivate and develop our management team, ensuring they receive necessary supervisions. Additionally, you will communicate with commissioning teams and other agencies. You will also ensure that the homes comply with all relevant legislation, regulations, and standards, and inspire to achieve outstanding outcomes for the children and young people we support.
**Your Responsibilities will include**:
- Serve as the Responsible Individual for 2 children's homes and act on behalf of the organisation to ensure compliance with all requirements.
- Provide mentorship, support, and monitoring to the homes/registered managers, conducting regular formal documented supervisions.
- Take the lead in decision-making and management of referrals and placements within the homes.
- Ensure that the quality of care is maintained at a high standard and that the homes fulfil their Statement of Purpose.
- Ensure compliance with the Children's Homes Regulations 2015, care standards, SCCIF, and monitor Regulation 45 and Regulation 44 Inspections.
- Effectively manage the annual budget.
- Ensure that staffing levels and competencies meet the requirements of the home and its residents.
- Keep up-to-date knowledge of the statutory and procedural framework for residential care and effectively communicate this to the wider team.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- QCF Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Children's Residential Services (or an equivalent qualification).
- A comprehensive understanding of relevant governing legislation, procedures, and best practices in providing care for looked after children.
