**The Role**

Are you based in Kingswood or the surrounding area, looking for a role close to home or to work in this area? We are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly person to join Orchard Lea Nursery in Kingswood (BS15) as 1:1 SEN Support. You do not have to hold a specific childcare qualification for this role however, experience in SEN support is essential.

Key element of the role:

- Have experience, knowledge and awareness of supporting children with SEN
- Some who is flexible, pro-active and can use initiative
- Be a highly motivated individual
- Strong communication skills
- Planning and preparing all activities
- Understanding of the child’s individual needs and ensuring these are met
- Working closing with outside agencies such as Speech and Language Therapists, Paediatricians and Health visitors
- Have awareness of TAC meetings and what they entail.
- Forming strong relationships with parents/carers/families to support the child
- Strong skills in completing relevant paperwork such as SEND Support plans, IEPs and a DEYO - ideally had experience with Bristol City Council however, training and support will be given
- Continual learning and development
- A confident good communicator, with literacy and IT skills. Training will be given.
- Have an empathic and fun approach to children’s learning.
- Be organised, motivated and proactive within the team

This role is 1:1 SEN support providing individual dedicated and focused support for children within the setting. Your primary role will be to focus on providing support on a 1:1 basis with specific children however, at all times you are part of the overall nursery team and will also be required to work with other children in the setting supporting the team.

The role will require working closely with the SENCO and the child’s key person and/or Room Lead to ensure all planning and relevant documentation is completed for the child you are supporting. You will also work very closely with outside agency professionals. At all times you will comply with the SEND Code of Practice and any relevant policies.

A valid Paediatric First Aid Certificate is desirable however, there will be opportunity to obtain this through the Nursery.

The nursery is supported by a strong administration team including SENCO, HR coordinator, an EYP, and Forest School Lead. As part of the team you will be supported by your Room Lead, Deputy and Nursery Manager. Orchard Lea operates a buddy system.

**Hours**

We require support between Monday and Friday however, the hours on each day will vary between 9am and 5pm. You will have a set working pattern and the specific hours will be discussed with you however, we do require flexibility with this and will change accordingly in line with the requirements of support for the child at the time and, needs of the nursery. You will be given adequate notice of any change in working hours/pattern.

Ongoing training and support are provided by the Nursery.
