**Repairs Surveyors** for a South-London Local Authority.

- **Full Time - Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, 36 hours per week**:
- **Temporary Role - 6 months with likely extension**:
- **£248.65 per hour PAYE / £330 per day Umbrella**
These roles are hybrid working, with the need to be
**on site 3 days per week** carrying out
**Pre & Post Inspections, Estate Inspections and Mutual Exchange Inspections. **The remainder of the week will be remote working for the adminsitrative side of the role such as
**Approving / Rejecting Variations** and
**Assisting with Complaints.**
The role of the
**Repairs Supervisor (Surveyor)** is to help manage the Void process.
They are responsible for back office control, providing solutions and direct resolution with issues. They report direct to the Operations Manager, the role is to provide full support to the technical and managerial team as well as deputising for other team members and management in a number of key areas such as direction of the team, contractor performance and budget management of any works excluded from the repairs contract.
The Surveyor in will also help obtain competitive quotes for larger repair works, commission consultants to advice on structural or specialist areas of work as necessary and supervise void and structural works on site.
This is a Priority 1 post for the repairs team to ensure that repairs are turned around correctly in the shortest period possible to ensure that issues do not develop into breach disrepair. They are responsible for updating the repairs and operation managers on progress with the ability to problem solve issues and work to best practice. Without having a Surveyor in post the repairs team are unable to reduce issues and ensure disrepair claims do not continue to escalate resulting in reputational damage, damage payments and fees to external solicitors.
The Surveyor will help manage the process helping and controlling information for inspections and contractor management ensuring that these are carried out within the time frame allotted to this process. They will update systems, monitor and escalate issues where required. As part of this function they are responsible for raising orders and managing works. Without this post we are unable to carry out these functions that will result in disrepair cases and reputational damage.
The Surveyor is also responsible for uploading pre and post inspection photographs to SharePoint.
This role is also responsible for giving weekly updates on repairs and disrepair, where required to the repairs technical and operations managers. Working with our partners to agree variations to ongoing works ensuring there are no delays incurred.
