- Quotient is recruiting for an experienced Senior Buyer to join the Supply chain team based near Penicuik, EH26 0BF. The role is a full-time permanent position, reporting directly to the Head of Supply Chain. As a Senior Buyer you will be responsible for the planning and scheduling of material deliveries in a timely manner to ensure the right parts are available at the right time for the organisational needs._ _A self-motivated, strategic individual with a positive can-do attitude and a drive to learn and develop skills is a necessity._
**_JOB DESCRIPTION_**
- The main responsibilities will include:_
- _To work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to ensure the operational plan is achieved. Fully and accurately capturing all material requirements._
- _End to end accountability for material portfolio & orderbook management. _
- _Generate & present routine shortage reports while analysing/summarising data trends, taking action in line with company policies. _
- _Liaising with external suppliers to ensure appropriate delivery and shipping information is available within the organisation & MRP system. Lead the provision of an effective P2P (procurement to pay) service & design and maintenance of scheduling systems._
- _Assist in the monitoring of supplier performance and cost reduction activities to ensure that suppliers achieve agreed improvement targets._
**_QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED_**
- _Experience within purchasing function is essential with a background in a regulated industry preferred._
- _Previous experience in managing Medical / Healthcare Packaging Materials and Glass categories would be advantageous._
- _Ideally CIPS or IOSCM accredited, or other proven continuous professional development. _
