Reed Secure have several fantastic opportunities for Police Lecturers to join an international organisation
**These are permanent opportunitiesoffering a salary of £47,400 rising to £49,950 after 6 months probation **or, if you would prefer the position can be offered as a **12 month FTC at a salary of £55k. Plus Trigger and payment points** offering you an additional £3000.
**Police Lecturers are needed for 3 locations: University of East London, Anglia and Ruskin University and University of West London.**
The successful individuals will need be to deliver engaging, evidence based, high energy lectures and assessments to ensure students’ progress in a timely manner through their programme
**Activities will include:**:
- Deliver an excellent student experience
- Provide teaching, learning support and undertake assessment to ensure students’ progress timely through their programme
- Develop highly motivated students who proactively engage with learning and transfer knowledge, skills and behaviours to the workplace, and enable them to integrate theory with practice through reflection
- Support the curriculum team in the development of lesson plans and learning to ensure training is current, innovative and evidence based
- Share best practice and engage in standardisation activities to enhance and develop the programme
- Ensure delivery meets the requirements of the awarding bodies
**Additional key accountabilities**:
- Foster a close link with the customer and partners, highlighting additional opportunities
- Highlight improvement ideas to the curriculum team to ensure the programme reflects current operational policing requirements
- Work within established company policies and procedures, including those related to government funding rules
- To contribute to the London Policing Institute Research Network
- Maintain and record all Continuous Professional Development
- Promote the sharing of ideas across the contract to support objectives in becoming an “outstanding” provider
- Build a positive team culture, based on the company values which promotes equality, diversity and inclusion
**Key outputs / deliverables**:
- An outstanding learning experience to student officers on the programmes
- Programmes delivered in line with Babcock and HEI quality standards
- Ensure provision delivery meets a minimum of a grade 2 Ofsted grade (measured through internal inspection)
- Students’ progress in line with agreed outputs and set KPIs
- Timely and overall completion targets met
- Minimise out of funded students (i.e. those past their completion date)
- Student records are kept up to date
- Lesson plans and learning collateral are developed in line with agreed targets
**What do I need to do the role?**:
- Excellent literacy, numeracy and communication skills
- Ability to support, motivate and inspire others; driving performance and professionalism
- Strong KPI and performance focus in delivery
- Experience of delivering a consistent student experience
- Experience of developing interactive, engaging teaching and assessment collateral
- IT literate and able to use a variety of software (including MS Word, Excel PowerPoint and Outlook)
**Qualifications**:
- Significant operational experience in policing (ideally within the MPS)
- Level 7 Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (or willing to achieve this during the probation period) (desirable)
- Educated to degree level or equivalent (essential)
- Level 2 qualification (or higher) in maths and English
