The role of the ADHD Pathway Coordinator will be to ensure patient pathways within East Lancashire Child and Adolescent Service (ELCAS) are efficiently and effectively coordinated and to be responsible for the maintenance of clinical evidence and clinical outcome data for regional and national review.
The post holder will be based at Burnley General Teaching Hospital and will be a central part of our ADHD team, liaising within our multidisciplinary teams to facilitate information sharing and a smooth patient flow.
A significant level of liaison with different services will be required and the post holder must demonstrate highly developed diplomatic and quality assurance skills. Attention to detail, excellent communication and organisational skills are key components to the position.

- To liaise with Clinical Services Coordinators and Senior Management to support delivery of effective pathway and waiting list management for our teams.
- Working closely with our ADHD Lead in managing and coordinating clinical pathways, supporting the delivery of our service standards.
- Support implementation and monitoring of data, identifying gaps in assurance and enhancing systems and processes. Ensuring a proactive rather than reactive response to clinical risk.
- Managing escalations and reports on a daily basis.
- Manage the demand and capacity of our ADHD waiting list, ensure detailed diary management for clinicians including clinic templates and clinic utilisation
- Prepare and coordinate all clinical appointments via our IAPTUS system, ensuring great communication and liaison with clinicians.
- Accountable for delivering wait time targets and standards for ADHD
- Being conversant with the Trust Digital Dictation systems in order to prepare clinical appointments and outcomes.
- Ensure accurate recording of patient’s demographics and personal details on the ELCAS IAPTUS system in accordance with Departmental Procedures.
- Accurately produce from audio/copy, patient related correspondence/reports of a sensitive and complex nature, using appropriate software and within specific timescales.
- To represent the Directorate at delegated meetings internal and external if necessary.
- To ensure that effective communication takes place, both within the team, including the chairing of clerical team meetings, and with other departmental teams.
- To participate in the communication of waiting list times and reminders to patients re. Appointments by letter/phone/text as agreed with the ADHD team.
- To deliver data and analysis for reports to meet the operation, management, and performance management needs of the service.
- To work with our data analyst team to develop new data collection systems and manage the process to deliver improvements/efficiencies.
- Liaise with the ADHD Lead or other clinical bodies as appropriate, of progress when working escalated issues.
- To work with our data analyst team to collate clinical evidence and data for reginal and national review.
- To prepare and present reports on behalf of the ADHD team and provide the analysis
- Work with other departmental teams to support our ADHD team and provide accurate pathway navigation.
- Support the team in gathering data to help improve ADHD navigation.
- To work in partnership with our sector teams and build positive working relationships with our clinical leads.
- Support the ADHD team to implement changes to improve our ADHD waiting list and enhance the patient experience in line with the ELCAS strategy.
- Attend multidisciplinary meetings to assist with information flow and gathering data. Be a centralised point of contact to support our ADHD Lead which will involve the preparation and action of outcomes from the multidisciplinary meeting.
- Minute taking in clinical meetings as instructed by the management team.
- Implement manual procedures if there is a system failure and report any faults to the IT Department.
- Good understanding of medical terminology is key.
- Completion of relevant paperwork, obtaining records when necessary, and other appropriate documentation.
