This role, working through the Surrey Training Hub, supports the recruitment, retention and workforce transformation strategies for the qualified GP workforce as well as supporting the development of other roles in primary care.

In delivering the role, the GP Tutor will work closely with other multi-professional workforce leads embedded in the Locality Training Hubs and the overarching Integrated Care System (ICS) Training Hub. They will work across the spectrum of health and where relevant, social care, to support changing service models and the delivery an integrated workforce strategy comprising individuals from a spectrum of professional and other backgrounds.

GP Tutors also contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care with continuing focus on patient and population need, through engagement with the wider system, including the Surrey Heartlands Health and Care Partnership and the Surrey CCGs.

You should be a self-motivated individual, able to respond quickly to changing priorities and workloads. Strong leadership skills are essential.

We expect applicants to have extensive knowledge of General Practice and have experience of working as a healthcare professional.

You will be a representative of the Primary Care Department and will be expected to be a positive advocate for NHS England at all times. You will promote leadership that inspires, motivates, and empowers all staff, whilst demonstrating the values of the NHS.

The Primary Care Department is responsible for the delivery of general practice education, alongside training and development for the multi-professional primary care workforce.
