We are recruiting for a new membership secretary which is ultimately responsible to the General Committee, but on a daily basis will work with the clubs Golf Operations team reporting to the Golf Operations Manager.

The role is in place to ensure the smooth and successful continuing organisation of the golfing and social events in the club year, acting with the sole focus of looking after the membership.

This is a permanent employed role which will be contracted at 18 hours per week (this can vary on the number of days per week, depending on the club operations and requirements for the membership). It is important that any applicants have a good knowledge of golf and the way a golf club membership operates.

- Management and maintenance of proper committee records, these include committee minutes, agenda's, Club Manual updates etc.
- Management of communications, both internal and external, including management of the website, all its content and all notice boards throughout the club.
- Organisational control and support to deliver all member events, this includes both golf and social events.
- The Members’ Secretary has an overall responsibility each year to co-ordinate the future planning of a consolidated calendar of golfing and social events for the year ahead on behalf of the Members’.
- The Members’ Secretary is expected to attend all Members’ Committee meetings and take the appropriate minutes. These are then to be posted onto the members IG portal.
- Tasks include maintenance of the definitive record of the results of all club competitions (Men, Women, Junior and Mixed) along with all club matches, plus the provision of relevant information to the club management for updating the Honours Boards.
- The Members’ Secretary is responsible for keeping and maintaining a duplicate copy of the printed rules for every competition.
- The Members’ Secretary is the designated press officer for the Members’

Committee and is responsible for maintaining regular contact with local press and providing to the press reports of news and events at the Club as the Members’ Committee or the Secretary sees fit from time-to-time.
- The Members’ Secretary will maintain (jointly and in conjunction with the

Members’ Treasurer) a close oversight of the administration of the charging for events, matches and all financial transactions as they affect the members directly.
- Within the standards set by the management and committee, the Members’ Secretary will advise and assist the Captain and the Ladies Captain and will use best endeavours to ensure that competitions and events are managed in accordance with their requests and requirements.
- The Members’ Secretary will ensure that the Junior Section has a voice on committee by maintaining active communication with the current Junior section leader and will undertake to represent his/her views to the committee as needed from time-to-time.The above list of requirements are to be taken as general responsibilities but must also recognise that any other reasonable tasks can be asked of the them if it is in the best interests of the club and its members.

**Salary**: £12.50 per hour
