Desk-Top Claims Handler - Scotland - Hybrid working - up to £35,000 per annum plus 10% annual bonus, generous pension 9%, 25 days holiday increasing to 28 with the option to buy and sell, free and discounted insurance products plus support towards industry qualifications such as BDMA insurance

One of the UK's leading Insurers who are renowned for their powerful and cutting-edge Insurance products are now seeking an experienced Technical Property Claims Handler to join their Home Claims team, who have a strong background of either (or all) loss adjusting, commercial and domestic claims handling including liability, investigation, negotiation, settlement, claims quantum, reserving and/or claims recovery.

This is a permanent full-time role working 35 hours per week Monday - Friday 9am-5pm

**Key responsibilities**:

- Handling Disaster, Recovery & Restoration losses
- Dealing with all perils primarily from escape of water, flood and fire up to £50k with involvement of losses up to £1m
- Assess liability, negotiate, and settle claims
- Review digital evidence live from the insured's home with an onsite technician where you will agree immediate actions to be made on site
- Take steps to mitigate the damage and to minimise the disturbance caused to customers
- Manage your own caseload and management of the claim, providing a world-class customer service
- Keep control of the indemnity cost and speed of the settlement for your own portfolio
- Process and record all activity within strict timescales

**Applicant Requirements**:
**About you**:

- Technical Property claims handling experience within a loss adjusting environment
- Knowledge of insurance principles and practice
- In-depth knowledge Building/content scoping
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- The ability to hold telephone conversations with customers
- A passion for customer service and the ability to maintain high levels of customer service with every customer contract
- Knowledge or experience of fraud investigations
- The ability to proactively manage claims effectively
- BDMA Accreditation desirable
- Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures specific to Asbestos and Mould remediation
