Olc Alternative Education Tutor

OLC Alternative Education is a part of New Forest Care Education. Our Alternative Education provision (OLC-AE) works alongside our OFSTED-rated Outstanding Independent Special School (850/6089), based near Romsey, Hampshire.
The OLC-AE provision specialises in supporting children with specific educational needs to access a whole school curriculum on a part-time basis. The setting accepts young people who are not yet ready to engage in a full-time education placement but still require a high-quality education setting. We support students from other settings where we deliver a specific section of the young person's education.
We provide various engagement activity options to draw young people into engaging in structured sessions. These lead to sessions that embed individualised academic and social learning objectives in a way that motivates and inspires young people.

**Core Requirements of the Post**
**Qualifications and Training**
Essential
- Level 2 Awards (GCSE or Functional Skills) in Maths and English
Desirable
- Forest School/Bushcraft Experience.
- Level 3 Tutoring Award.
**Experience**
- Experience working with SEND students in an educational environment.
- The ability to plan and deliver progressive sessions to meet different learning outcomes.
**Skills and Knowledge**
- Understanding of high-quality teaching based on evidence.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships.
- Competent and confident to use office IT systems.
- A standard of written English sufficient to communicate with colleagues and provide credible written reports.
