**What you’ll be doing**:
Reporting directly into the Director of Motability Transition & Business Optimisation, you'll serve as the Head of Finance & Business Intelligence, spearheading strategic financial and analytical initiatives for the Direct Line Motability (DLM) team. Being the conscience of the business, you'll balance front-line customer service with pricing strategies to ensure a profitable operation. This pivotal role involves overseeing end-to-end design, delivery, and monitoring of budget and actual reporting, providing financial insight and support, and leading technical teams in Financial Planning, Analysis, Reporting, and Business Intelligence. As the Financial figurehead within the Senior Leadership team for 550 employees, you'll engage in stakeholder management, communicate complex financial results, and drive continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include talent development, contract implementation, performance reporting with external partners, and collaboration with various internal departments to optimise financial outcomes. Your leadership will extend to motivating and developing a team of financial and business intelligence professionals, delivering high-quality output, and fostering personal and professional development. Additionally, you'll play a key role in ensuring compliance with legal requirements and DLG policies, contributing to a positive and results-driven organisational culture.

**What we’re looking for**:

- Subject matter expert in financial and management accounting, demonstrating a deep understanding of accounting principles and practices, with a sharp focus on continuous improvement to enhance financial processes and outcomes
- Experience providing strategic financial insight and direction, ensuring the balance of customer service and pricing for a profitable business
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of motivating, developing, and leading high-performing teams in Financial Planning, Analysis, Reporting, and Business Intelligence
- Proven track record of driving continuous improvement in financial and business performance
- Ability to anticipate business performance issues/opportunities and recommend appropriate action to drive optimal outcomes
- Excellent commercial skills, with the ability to understand complex contractual requirements
- Ability to constructively challenge key stakeholders on priorities and ideas; both internal & external, and open to new ideas from a variety of sources, which may challenge your way of thinking
