Established in 1977 Ark provides 450 tenancies, and supports over 400 people through our dedicated and skilled workforce of 700+ staff. We operate in 12 Local Authority areas predominantly in the North and East of Scotland.

Ark is seeking an experienced and exceptional individual to lead the Compliance & Improvement function. The role reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

The post holder will work with the Senior Leadership Team to drive Ark towards realising the aspirations of its vision and mission and ensure that the organisational values are explicit and sit at the heart of everything we do.

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team your primary role is to provide strategic leadership that delivers effective governance for Ark and to put in place risk managed strategic plans that will ensure the continued development of the organisation within operating models that are both viable and sustainable over the longer term.

You will be responsible for developing and prioritising the business plan for your area of work and have a significant contribution to the overarching organisational strategy. Your role is to shape, deliver and embed organisational strategies and learning to build an Ark culture, that aligns to our values and will achieve sustained high performance. Integral to this is developing and implementing a Governance and Compliance Framework which will ensure that Ark complies with all aspects of it’s regulatory and legal responsibilities.

This is an exciting role and comes at a time where Ark have undertaken a major piece of work where we have reviewed and developed our strategy for the period 2023 - 2026. This business plan will see Ark reshape as a modern, future-focused organisation that will positively impact on the lives of its tenants, supported people and staff.

We are looking for dynamic, forward thinking and enthusiastic applicants with extensive knowledge and experience in compliance with the requirements of the Information Commissioner, the Scottish Public Services Ombudsman in relation to complaints, and the Scottish Housing Regulator and OSCR.
