**Lead Power Electronics Engineer**

I am delighted to be exclusively representing a marketing leading business within the Electronics industry for the appointment of a Lead Power Electronics Engineer to be based at their Technology Centre in Nottingham, due to growth and exciting new projectwins to join an established team.

You will be responsible for all aspects of electrical design, development, and testing of power converters and power management products along with new power electronics technologies, aligned with the company’s strategy in support of future more electricand all-electric aircraft platforms. You will be working on products sub 10KW so previous experience of this level would be essential.

**Responsibilities of a Lead Power Electronics Engineer**
- Technical ownership of the development of allocated power conversion and power management products and technologies
- Review customer specifications to establish feasibility and possible conceptual solutions.
- Identification and development of new technologies to improve products
- Determine optimal power converter topologies and product overall electrical design, including product compliance with electrical requirements, including electrical environmental requirements such as EMI.
- Develop, review and approve the electrical sections of proposals, including time/cost estimation of tasks and hardware.
- Develop and maintain mathematical models and simulations of electrical power converters
- Write, review and approve simulation output reports and schematic drawings
- Create, review and approve electrical design schematics and PCB layout
- Prepare and lead design reviews of electrical aspects of our products, including the creation of clear and concise data packs/presentations

**Skills Required of a Lead Power Electronics Engineer**
- Degree Qualified within Electrical and/or Electronic Engineering
- Significant, industry experience ideally from aerospace/defense background
- Ability to qualify for UK security clearance
- A strong leader with great interpersonal skills
- Significant power converter and / or power management design experience
- Strong knowledge of multiple topologies and understanding of selection criteria
- PCB Design Experience
