MMP Consultancy are recruiting for a Neighbourhood Officer required to join a fantastic housing provider, this will be working on a Temporary basis in Norfolk.
As Neighbourhood Officer, you will play a key role in creating safer communities by providing customers with a high-quality housing management service, dealing with tenancy management, and preventing Anti-Social Behaviour.
Main Responsibilities:
- Act as ambassador for the business by building and maintaining positive relationships with all residents and stakeholders
- Work with customers at allocation stage including viewings and sign ups and throughout the tenancy to ensure relevant support and safeguarding is given to them to sustain their tenancies
- Successfully manage and enforce tenancy conditions through positive engagement, balancing support and tenancy action, including taking relevant court action where necessary
- Inspect estates and communal areas cross the patch and any areas of concern are correctly reported to ensure customer health and safety are met
- Establish professional working relationships with colleagues, partners and stakeholders to support the delivery of a holistic housing management service
- Manage starter tenancies by completing visits, reviewing and monitoring the process to ensurelevant support is given to minimise tenancy failures
- Complete pre-void and the end of tenancy process to ensure a streamlined service
- Manage and enforce tenancy action including acting as the legal representative where court action is taken
- Effectively manage and resolve resident contact logged through our internal contact management system
- Deliver an effective and appropriate service to all residents fairly and without discrimination
- Ensure close work and referrals with relevant agencies to help residents to be supported and safeguarded
- Work proactively with local partners and our customers to deliver a community-based service
Experience Required:
- Previous experience of working as a Housing or Neighbourhood Officer
- Strong understanding of relevant housing law
- Experience of handling difficult customers and situations in a compassionate and sensitive manner
- Good IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Proven record of dealing with vulnerable individuals in complex situations
