Reed Further and Higher Education are working with a prestige university to recruit for Programme Director - Fine Art permanently.

**The Role**:
The Programme Director is responsible for a significant cohort of students and the staff team. They will be responsible for the day-to-day management of teaching resources and ensuring that support staff, technical and financial resources are effectivelydeployed to deliver high quality education. The Programme Director will be a line-manager and responsible for the performance of the course team ensuring they engage fully in a range of core activities including teaching, development of learning materials,research and scholarly activity, course administration, curriculum development and recruitment and retention strategies.

You will be an inspirational leader that can motivate and direct a team of practicing artists and academics, inspiring and engaging them and their students to achieve excellence. You will have a profile that includes research, professional experience, andkeen knowledge of current issues in higher education. You will be highly organised, with excellent administrative skills and confident in using virtual learning environments, digital systems, and processes.

Your experience will enable you to work collaboratively with other members of the School Management Team to lead and support the wider strategic activities of the School and the University in terms of portfolio development, recruitment, and research.

As an educator, you will have a passion for the development and enhancement of fine art education, and enthusiasm for tradition, innovation, interdisciplinary and collaborative practices, as well as a critical understanding of the social, cultural, economic,and environmental factors for artists, art and art education, including decolonising practices, mental health and wellbeing, diversity, inclusion and LGBTQIA+.

You will also have a high awareness of the professional environment for emerging artists, strong connections in the art world across a range of sectors, and the ability to strategize and develop opportunities for our graduates.

**Person specification**
- Relevant BA and postgraduate qualification or equivalent professional experience
- Demonstrate successful leadership in HE is setting for Fine Art, designing and developing of courses and the curriculum, building learning experiences and implementing learning and teaching strategies to enhance the student experience and graduate outcomes.
- Extensive knowledge of historical and Contemporary Art and Art practices, the variety of the methods and processes used by artists, and of new developments in the art world, communities, and sectors.
- Demonstrate comprehensive networks and contacts in the Fine Arts Industry (both nationally and internationally) and significant experience of professional practice in the fine art sectors including knowledge of art funding, art markets and art economics;and have the ability to be develop strategies that will enable our graduates to achieve their potential within these arenas
- High level scholarship, research or professional practice aligning to one or more of Academic Career-Fields in research, professional practice or academic pedagogy.
- Successful leadership - enabling a team to perform at their optimum to meet performance objectives and achieve outstanding results, including the induction of new staff to ensure they are nurtured, fully operational and competent.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills necessary for maintaining student records, assessment, quality assurance systems and records, curriculum and teaching and learning materials
- Proven ability to lead and manage complex situations and change within a large organisation
- Successful management of people, facilities, and operational processes; demonstrating the ability to identify, align and enhance resources and liaise with relevant personnel to ensure delivery of objectives.
- Communicate using straight forward, inspiring language that is tailored to the audience, evidencing respect for different communities and for equality, diversity and inclusion.
