_Established for over 30 years, Compass is a national charity which works in communities across the UK providing services spanning substance misuse treatment and rehabilitation, early interventions for vulnerable young people, school aged health programmes and associated prevention as well as treatment and health promotion initiatives._
- Safe East provides young people’s substance misuse and sexual health services across Tower Hamlets (age 11-19 and up to 25 yrs for those in care of with SEND). The service delivers targeted and specialist services within the community and through outreach work, providing evidence based interventions to reduce substance misuse related harm and support young people to live healthy lives. _

Across **Tower Hamlets **we are rolling out a **young person’s Drug Use Screening Tool (DUST). **As the **dedicated DUST Training & Implementation Lead**, you will be responsible for the delivery of tailored substance misuse awareness training and support for staff in educational and community settings.

You will take the lead on promoting and delivering the DUST training and building relationships with a range of relevant stakeholders, promoting the training and embedding an effective referral pathway for young people with substance misuse issues.

**Role and Responsibilities**:

- Using your training/substance misuse knowledge/education expertise, you will deliver training packages that empower those who work with young people.
- Help build partnering relationships with a range of organisations across Tower Hamlets.
- Act as an ambassador and link between Compass Safe East and education/social care settings, promoting awareness and sharing good practice between them.
- Providing consultation sessions and support/guidance to partners regarding screening and identifying substance use at the earliest opportunity.
- You will be responsible for promotion of the substance misuse service across young people's provision in Tower Hamlets, ensuring that there are clear pathways into the service for those who require targeted brief intervention and/or specialist interventions.
- Measures of success for this role will include having developed and delivered a comprehensive training across the children's workforce and an increase in appropriate referrals for young people into the service.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Relevant professional qualification/s e.g. Teacher, Youth Worker, Social Worker, or training in substance misuse/youth and community work/train the trainer/education environment
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in leadership/management (Desirable)
- Level 3 Education and Training or equivalent (formally PTLLS) (Desirable)
- Degree level educated (Desirable)
- Experience of designing and delivering training related to substance misuse
- Experience working within a young person’s substance misuse service
- Experience delivering service presentations/training to professionals and partners/stakeholders
- Experience in multi-agency working with statutory and third sector partners from a range of settings.
