Regional Payroll Officer

GMP Recruitment are proud to partner a highly successful, fast growing manufacturing company with a global customer base. We are recruiting on their behalf for an experienced Regional Payroll Officer to join their ever growing and successful team on a fulltime, permanent contract, covering multiple sites across the South Wales area.
This is a remote working position, but you will be required to attend the Herefordshire office occasionally, for meetings and team events.
As Payroll Officer you will implement and ensure the effective and efficient processing of a centralised regional payroll function, including processing for pensions and benefits, compliance with legislation and deliver a right first-time service, with minimumneed for additional payment runs and/or retrospective corrections to payroll or pension processing.
Regional Payroll Officer main duties:
- Maintain and ensure correct information on HR ERP systems complying with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and payroll and pension legislation.
- Responsible for processing regional payrolls ensuring compliant with statutory and professional regulations in accordance with agreed payment schedules.
- Responsible for input of monthly payroll changes for regional sites.
- Responsible for payroll processing for employees based outside the UK, who are assigned to UK sites.
- Responsible for ensuring that all payroll files are correctly generated and reconciled prior to being submitted (committed) for final processing.
- Maintain high levels of service, ensuring prompt and accurate processing payments, reporting and record keeping of payroll.
- Produce reports and management information including statutory returns, for example, reports for payroll, pension, health and safety and finance; reports on metrics including turnover KPI, headcount and costs. Provide to various customers including HR teams,senior site leaders, global internal corporate finance and operations, third party providers e.g. broker, ONS, HMRC, Child Benefit Agency.
Regional Payroll Officer desired skills and experience:
- Demonstrable experience of working within a payroll function
- Experience of using electronic payroll processing systems
- Calculated HMRC/PAYE and statutory payments
- Use of HR ERP systems
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of UK payroll-related legislation and statutory requirements, including PAYE and other deductions and HMRC rules.
- Knowledge of PAYE compliance and audit requirements
- Excellent numeracy and literacy skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail
