**Location/Division Specific Information**

Location: You will be home-base based in Southern England and working with customers primarily in Southern England and in addition in Ireland. The role requires regular travel (35%) to customer sites, external and internal events, nationally and occasionally internationally.

Division: The Clinical Next-Generation Sequencing Division (CSD) is leading the global democratization of next-generation sequencing (NGS) to accelerate translational research and improve clinical outcomes.

The division is positioned around three core pillars including: winning in oncology, driving focused growth in translational research that will advance into the clinic, and expanding into applied markets including reproductive health and more. With our easily-adoptable end-to-end Ion Torrent sequencing technologies running central to each of these pillars, we are turning rapid, turnkey in-house testing for decentralized community hospitals and precision diagnostics into a reality.

A day in the Life:

- Support clinical market on the operation of Thermo Fisher Scientific / Ion Torrent Next-Generation Sequencing product portfolio with focus on oncology
- Lead the implementation of assays, products & clinical solutions within customer sites
- Manage and solve customer escalations effectively through in-depth troubleshooting
- Support sales in the achievement of the regional sales target by delivering product line specific pre
- and post-sales related customer support activities
- Maintain relationships with key Thermo Fisher Scientific collaborating partners. Build and manage relationships with key decision makers or potential influencers

Keys to Success:
**Education**
- MSc and/or PhD preferred (or equivalent experience in science) in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Genetics, Biomedical Sciences, Biology, Life Sciences or similar.

**Experience**
- Hands-on experience with Next-Generation Sequencing technology is required.
- Experience in communicating technical materials in written and verbal form.
- Previous experience in a support / training-related position is desired not required.
- Customer-facing experience is desired not required.

**Knowledge, Skills, Abilities**
- Strong communications and presenting skills are essential
- Ability to connect with and support effectively people with varying levels of technical knowledge and expertise
- Emotional intelligence to understand customer concerns
- Strong commercial attitude is essential
- Independent and self-driven
- Team player able to collaborate effectively with different internal and external partners
- Analytical mind with strong ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems
- Good computer and IT skills with interest for groundbreaking technologies
- Willingness to travel within territory (estimated 35%)
- Proficient in English
- Valid driving licence and passport
