Civils Operative

**Job Responsibilities/Objectives**

This is on road role, Based in Glasgow and the surrounding areas.
- Blockage clearance between Openreach underground duct and home
- Range of practical tasks including excavating/digging trenches, placing and compacting bedding material, laying and jointing/repairing ducts
- Backfilling and compacting trenches, removal & reinstatement of Grass, Tiles (all type), Tarmac, Concrete, mix and lay concrete, etc.
- Operate Machinery & Equipment i.e. Generator, Jack Hammer, Wacker Plate (Compactor), CAT & Genny (Cable detector/locator), Petrol Saw for cutting Tarmac/Concrete, Drill Machine, other manual tools like Shovel, Pickaxe, Trowel, Hammer etc.
- Ensure quality of workmanship meets minimum standards and complies with Companies/Client Health & Safety policy and practices
- Use only approved equipment/machinery/tools, in the correct manner and protect and trace all utilities within your works area before digging
- To ensure accurate information/paperwork is submitted as directed in a timely manner.
- Attend safety briefings, training, consultation meetings and health surveillance when required
- Excavate, backfill, and manage spoil on site.
- Ensure all tools and equipment is in good condition and calibrated.

**Required Skills/Experience**
- Experience in street works within the telecommunications industry
- Proven skills in civil works with industry-recognized qualifications
- Full UK driver’s license, with no more than 6 points
- NRSWA certification

Work Location: On the road

Pay: £180.00-£300.00 per day

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
