Flexible People Ltd are currently recruiting van drivers for a well known client of ours, based in Rochester.

**PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A MIXED ROLE MADE UP OF VAN DRIVING AND WORKING AS A PORTER - PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU ARE WILLING TO DO BOTH.**

The van driving aspect of the role, will involve working with a porter to deliver goods to customers houses. Some of these goods will be small, some may be larger items. You may also be asked to drive the van out to the lorry drivers to take items off them that were unable to be delivered.

In order to drive the vans, you must have a valid UK license, you must have a minimum of one year driving experience and no more than 6 points on your driving license. No DD, DR or NI convictions.

The porter aspect of the role involves going out with a driver in a van or 7.5t lorry to deliver large goods to residential properties. These deliveries are often heavy and can include anything from white goods to beds, wardrobes, gym equipment and furniture.

You will also be required to call ahead to customers with an arrival time, you must therefore have a very good level of spoken English and a good telephone manner. Experience with customers is preferred but not essential.

Pay rates of

£12.17 per hour.

The shift pattern is 5-6 days per week and YOU MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK WEEKENDS.

Shifts start at 06.00 and can be 10-12 hours long some days.

THIS IS AN ONGOING POSITION WITH THE OPTION OF A PERMANENT CONTRACT AFTER 12 WEEKS
- Reliable and organised
- Have good communication skills and a good level of customer service
- Be fit and healthy and able to lift heavy goods
- Have your own steel toe cap safety boots and a high vis vest
