Sheffield, United Kingdom University of Sheffield Full time

We have an exciting opportunity for a bioinformatician to join the Clinical Infection Research Group (CIRG) to work on a large-scale, global health research project evaluating host gene signatures in acute undifferentiated infection (AUFI). The successful applicant will analyse large clinical and gene expression data sets to determine whether functional genomic signatures can be used to accurately identify and usefully discriminate bacterial, viral and parasitic causes of acute undifferentiated fever in South Asia and Africa.

There will also be opportunities to contribute to other research projects and the associated publications from within the CIRG so this role would suit someone who enjoys working as part of a team.

We’re one of the best not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK. The University’s Total Reward Package includes a competitive salary, a generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and development courses to support your personal and professional development.

We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
