We also want to continue working in close partnership with our local communities and other important partners.

**About the role**

We have an exciting opportunity for a Leisure Projects Officer to join our team in Witney. You will contribute to achieving the Council’s corporate priorities by enabling and supporting residents to find their own solutions and make their wants, needs and ideas a reality, so they can achieve high levels of health and wellbeing.

You will be working with local residents and organisations to:

- Review community playing pitch assets and identify improvements which could be made.
- Support residents to make ‘connections’ in the community e.g. connecting local people who want to take action through conversation, story-sharing and sign-posting.
- Foster more physically active communities by identifying and building upon a community’s existing strengths and energies.

To help us deliver our ambitions for the local area, we are looking for an enthusiastic individual who has a passion for making a difference to the local community. If you have a good eye for detail and the ability to communicate effectively, we would love to hear from you

**You will need**
- The ability to support community groups to achieve their objectives e.g. help the local community to obtain funding to redevelop and enhance facilities to allow more community activities to take place.
- Awareness of the Climate Emergency, and the ability to support the Council’s Climate Emergency goals and other related policies by supporting the development of local facilities that can be accessed via sustainable travel options, and by implementing carbon neutral solutions where possible.
- Experience of assessing submitted information, critical analysis and making considered responses e.g. ability to submit consultation responses for sport & leisure facilities to secure community funding and/or section 106.
- Experience of working with colleagues to achieve business objectives.
- Experience of coordinating and delivering projects.
