**The Role**

We are seeking to appoint a caring highly motivated, experienced person to join a team of professionals working with learners with a wide range of complex needs including severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties, medical needs and autism.

**The Opportunity**

Glenwood is an outstanding residential special school for pupils aged 3-19 yrs. We operate in a fantastic school building, providing for 220 pupils along with the 20-bed residential accommodation known as The Glen.

The Glen is an education intervention; the primary purpose of a residential placement at The Glen is to provide an early intervention that brings about change in the young person's life across a range of contexts by helping them learn new ways of sharing; spaces, attention, resources and control.

**Accountabilities**

**You will be**:

- Experienced in imagining life from each individual learners' point of view
- Experienced in leadership and management in an education or residential child care setting
- Passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and disabilities
- Outstanding at forming positive relationships and developing positive partnerships
- Self-motivated and driven by opportunities to make a positive difference for learners and their families
- Able to engage with confidence and efficiency in multi-agency working
- Have a firm understanding of the National Minimum Standards for Residential Special School
- Have a level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent) or be willing to work towards
- Efficient at monitoring essential compliance
- A highly skilled communicator
- Positive, resourceful, innovative and able to embrace change
- Skilled at managing and supporting a large team
