**Craft Technician - Social Enterprise
Job type**: Part Time for 3 Days a week. 22.5 hrs a week
**Location**:Milton Keynes, MK12
**Salary**: £18,525 pa (Actual Salary: £11,115 pa pro rata)

Sew and Grow is a têxtile based social enterprise that works with young people to design and make beautiful, naturally dyed têxtiles and hand-crafted têxtile products that contribute to sustainable living.

**The organisation will do this by**:

- Designing, making and selling naturally dyed fabric, beeswax wraps and other earth-friendly products
- Engaging young people in all aspects of the Sew and Grow Enterprise
- Being active in raising awareness of the issues their products seek to address
- Producing and selling kits that encourage others to be creative with natural dyes
- Running art
- and craft
- based community activities
- Growing and foraging plants and dye ingredients in a small dye garden based at the Urb Farm, and in surrounding areas

You will be an enterprising, environmentally committed craftivist with sewing and natural dying skills who enjoys working with young people and others in our community.

**Key requirements**

Ideally you will have:

- Experience in a range of craft activities, including sewing and natural dyeing
- An ability to, and experience of, working with young people
- Qualifications at level 2 or above in English and Maths
- Committed to environmental sustainability, re-use and up-cycling
- Strong team work skills and an ability to work constructively with others
- Experience in use of social media
- A commitment to the completion of work and the achievement of stretching targets
