**Description**:
We are currently recruiting for a Driver Assessor to join our Transport and Logistics team, supporting our Transport Managers across our Central England and North England region.
Ideally, your home base will be within this region to enable flexibility in your day to day travel.
Reporting into the Regional Transport Manager, you’ll work in partnership with our Transport Managers to evaluate and assess the driving skills and performance of new and existing drivers, to ensure compliance with safety regulations, company standards, and industry best practices.

**Key Responsibilities**:
You will conduct comprehensive evaluations of our new and existing drivers to assess their driving skills, knowledge, and adherence to safety protocols. You’ll collaborate with the Transport team to design tailored programs, and analyse assessment data to continuously enhance driver training and on-road safety.
- Embed and promote a culture of health, safety and wellbeing across transport operations within the area, actively championing our Home Safe and Well goal and reinforcing through effective leadership, engagement and consistency of communication to both company and owner drivers.
- Conduct thorough assessments of new and existing drivers to evaluate their driving skills, knowledge, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Administer practical driving tests, theoretical evaluations, and hazard perception assessments to gauge driver competence.
- Provide constructive feedback and coaching to drivers based on assessment outcomes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing action plans for skill enhancement.
- Collaborate with the Transport and development team to design and deliver tailored driver training programs, addressing specific skill gaps and safety concerns.
- Establish a strong presence and approachability to drivers, encouraging an open and trusting environment where they feel comfortable raising concerns, feedback, and suggestions.
- Stay informed about industry best practices, emerging technologies, and advancements in driver assessment methodologies to continuously enhance the evaluation process.
**Skills, Knowledge & Expertise**:
- Previous experience and track record in driver coaching and training.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong focus on safety and compliance
- Proven problem-solving skills in identifying areas for improvement.
