Dog Grooming Assistant/bather

Main Duties:

- Must have previous experience working in a salon environment, ideally at least 1 year
- Must be kind and patient
- Must be experienced and confident in bathing, drying (including fluff drying), ear cleaning and plucking and nail clipping and have done these tasks on a regular basis
- Ideally have some experience of clipping off coats and doing basic cutting
- Ensure that the salon is maintained to the highest possible standards, including; presentation, cleanliness, and health and safety (see policies and procedures for details)
- Be a team player, ensuring that the salon is an amazing place to work
- Assist the team in developing workplace policies and procedures and maintaining such policies and procedures
- Be confident in interacting with all breeds of dogs, being kind at all times
- Engage in and be open to training to further develop your skills and knowledge and be open to adapting previous skills to meet our specific standards, including attending team development meetings (paid)
- To ensure that the health, welfare and safety of all dogs, adults and customers in the salon remain a priority at all times
- To assist in ensuring equipment is kept to a high standard of safety and that equipment is well cared for and used appropriately
- To liaise positively and effectively with customers and the public, promoting the reputation of the salon at all times
- To ensure all forms, records and procedures are appropriately filled in/carried out in accordance with salon policies, procedures and guidelines
- To offer and promote equal opportunities with regards to cultural, emotional, racial, gender, religious and additional needs.To challenge/report any situations in which equal opportunities are not maintained
- To maintain confidentiality at all times, both in the salon and in the local/wider community
- Any other duties considered relevant to the post
