**Summary**
The role holder will be responsible for supporting and managing all aspects of the organisation of the event ‘FEAST’ planned for 30 June 2023 and to be held at St Mary’s University as part of the Richmond Arts and Ideas Festival. This will involve communications with external partners such as Richmond Arts Services and The Entrepreneurial Refugee Network (TERN); and internal partners within the University, as well as other organisations where appropriate. In addition to the organisation of the event, the postholder will be expected to engage in a small research project supported by a Post-Doc researcher from the Bakhita Centre, who will support the co-production of outputs. The post holder will also produce a report on completion of the project.
**Job Details**
Working for two days each week over the course of three months the postholder will report to the Head of Department for Theology & Liberal Arts, and to the Director of the Bakhita Centre. The postholder will be responsible for closely liaising with TERN, marketing the event alongside Richmond Arts Services, working with the University Conferencing team and creating the medium for evaluating the impact of the event. The postholder will also work with the food entrepreneurs to collate their stories and coordinate the evening event. This will be an artistic representation - through storytelling and performance - of the cultural meaning of the food served at FEAST. For the final month of the contract, the postholder will evaluate the event, collate the stories and create an output in the form of a booklet.

The Institute of Theology and Liberal Arts is a small department that offers Undergraduate courses in History, English, Liberal Arts, Theology and Creative & Professional Writing. We also offer PG study in Theology, History, English and Bio-Ethics & Medical Law as well as Catholic Social Teaching. The Bakhita Centre for Research on Slavery, Exploitation and Abuse was established in 2015 (as the Centre for the Study of Modern Slaver) to respond to the growing scale of modern slavery and human trafficking globally. We recognise the legacy of imperialism and colonialism in modern societies, including in contemporary forms of slavery, exploitation and abuse, and intersections with migration, gender-based violence, domestic abuse and other forms of discrimination and harm. We are committed to conducting applied research and providing educational programmes that are impactful on practice and policy.
