Two days in the office (Tuesday and Wednesday) and the rest from home but must be available to attend on WFH days if required.

**Roles and responsibilities**:

- Responsible for the design and implementation of a number of people-friendly streets projects, such as proposals for new Liveable Neighbourhoods, Traffic schemes, Parking and Public Realm schemes.
- This will include working with Transport for London, neighbouring boroughs and internal stakeholders to coordinate their transport projects with Islington's.
- Most of the engagement work associated with the Liveable Neighbourhood projects is led by a different team, so it's predominantly design and construction that our team lead on.
- Responsible for the management and overall supervision of Senior Engineers, Engineers and Technicians involved in the delivery of our works programme, including the formulation and prioritisation of work programmes, and establishing and achieving of realistictargets.
- A key part of the role involves extensive working with elected Members, senior officers and external organisations.
- Managing contractors
- Managing consultants
- Large-scale projects - regeneration & cycle projects would be ideal, but not essential.

**Experience & Requirements**:

- This post requires a clean driving licence
- This role will require you to obtain an Enhanced satisfactory clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
- This post is designated politically restricted
- Corporate Membership or incorporated status of a recognised professional engineering Institution in at least one of the disciplines within the service with 2 years post qualification experience OR Qualification in Engineering or Transportation to degreelevel or equivalent with at least 6 years' successful post qualification experience in a practicing senior position OR Proven track record of successfully high quality professional and managerial experience In one or more specialist engineering areas of theservice.
