Hours: 30 hrs per week

**About the role**
This is an exciting opportunity to support the development of a new project aiming to provide employment and volunteering opportunities for people with lived experience of mental health issues and to raise awareness of mental health. This role will involve supporting the project co-ordinator and working with the kitchen assistant and volunteers to ensure the café operates effectively and provides a great experience for customers, staff and volunteers
**Main responsibilities**
1. Plan, prepare and cook quality homemade food
2. Develop and implement a stock plan to prevent under/over stocking
3. Manage safe and effective product storage and rotation to prevent damage or spoilage.
4. Ensure that all products are properly labelled with nutritional content, price and expiration dates
5. Adhere to food safety regulations at all time
6. Ensure that all cleaning is carried out to high standards
7. Work with project co-ordinator to ensure inventory, ordering and budgets are prepared and manged effectively
8. Line manage and support staff and volunteers
9. Maintain a calm, welcoming environment during busy and challenging periods
10. Respond calmly to questions and complaints from clients and work to resolve any problems
11. Able to ensure staff and volunteers are trained appropriately for all operations
12. To maintain appropriate record keeping systems in line with data protection requirements.
13. To ensure budgets are adhered to and financial systems maintained.
14. To work in accordance with North Lincolnshire Mind’s policies and procedures at all times.
15. To undertake any further training as identified in the North Lincolnshire Mind Training plan
16. Ensure that safe working practices are followed in respect of COSHH and other Risk Assessment control measures.
17. To maintain awareness of risk and to take personal responsibility for ensuring that the North Lincolnshire Mind is not unnecessarily exposed to risk and to report any issues or concerns relating to risk and the effectiveness of risk management arrangements.
18. All staff must comply with the provisions of ‘The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974’ and must take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and of other persons who may be affected by their acts of omissions whilst at work. Employees are also required to co-operate with their employer to enable them to perform or comply with any statutory provisions. North Lincolnshire Mind promotes a safe and healthy working environment can only succeed with the full co-operation of its employees.
The post holder will be required to carry out any other duties which are within the scope/spirit and purpose of the job as requested. If duties and responsibilities change, the job description will be reviewed and amended in consultation with the post holder.

**Essential**
**Qualifications and Training**:
- Food hygiene qualifications
Experience
- At least 1 years experience of cooking in a busy kitchen environment
- At least 1 years experience of line managing staff and/or volunteers
- A commitment to providing effective high-quality services.
- A commitment to achieving targets and developing staff.
