Fibre Planner

We are looking for a Fibre Planner to be part of our dedicated team on the Gatta IT Services in the UK.

What will you be doing?

Your role will be to undertake activities across all aspects of Planning, Design, Surveys and costing of provision and maintenance of the Gatta IT Services Ltd fibre optic and copper pilot telecom cable network.

What will your key responsibilities be?
- Allocate and confirm Fibre or Cable allocations on per project basis.
- Instigate all Advance Road opening notices and Utility mark up Requests.
- Production of Consents Drawings, Documentation and Planned Outage requests permitting speedy acquisition of all necessary permissions relating to the planned works thereby meeting internal and external timelines.
- Production of Works Packages for onward internal or external issue in line with current statutory, H&S legislation and best engineering principles.
- Calculating budgets, delivering regular and detailed commentary with progress updates to internal and external stakeholders.
- Speak directly with end user, build “trusted advisor” relationships, specifying their needs and providing high level of service

What competencies are we looking for?
- Experience working in a similar, fibre planning or delivery role
- Experience working with Fibre and/or copper cabling networks (Telco / FTTH / FTTP)
- Effective communication skills - both written and verbal
- Competent user of Microsoft Office Packages (outlook, excel & word)
- Proven experience of AutoCAD
- Must be able to interphase with both technical and non-technical customers
- Possess or ability to obtain relevant authorizations permitting access and work within UK fibre network sites.
