As a Part-Time Library Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our library services. Your main responsibilities will include:
**1. Customer Service**: Provide excellent customer service by assisting library patrons with inquiries, book recommendations, and utilizing library resources.

**2. Circulation Support**: Manage the borrowing and return of library materials, utilizing our library management system to maintain accurate records.

**3. Shelving and Collection Management**: Organize and shelve library materials to ensure a tidy and accessible collection. Assist with inventory management and collection maintenance.

**4. Programming Support**: Support the planning and execution of library programs and events, fostering a welcoming and engaging environment for all attendees.

**5. Covering Adhoc Hours**: On occasion, you may be required to cover staff shortages at other libraries within the borough to support our collaborative network.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience working in a public library or similar setting is essential.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-centric approach.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking effectively.
- A passion for literature and promoting community engagement through educational and cultural initiatives.
- **Enhanced DBS clearance is mandatory due to the nature of the role.**:

- Flexibility to work 26 hours per week with the possibility of additional adhoc hours.
