Abatec are currently recruiting for a freelance General Foreman who have experience working on Highways projects. Based in Cornwall, this freelance position offers long term work. We are interested in applicants who have experience of projects including highways, earthworks, drainage, RC structures and surfacing.

**As General Foreman you will**:

- Report into a Senior Works Manager and be responsible for checking Method Statements, Risk Assessments and Construction Phase Plans.
- Liaise with employees and subcontractors to ensure programme dates are met.
- Manage all permits and approvals for the schemes.
- Assist in resolving site/construction issues.
- Ensure schemes are constructed in accordance to the approved design.
- Ensure workforce adhere to H&S and Environmental rules.

**Our client requires a General Foreman with**:

- Proven experience of working on highways schemes, ideally including earthworks, drainage, surfacing, RC structures.
- A solid understanding of health and safety regulations and legislation.
- Excellent communication skills and experience of managing operatives on site.
- SMSTS/SSSTS, First Aid at Work and CSCS card

**Salary and benefits include**:

- £280 - £330 per day (paid on a PAYE/CIS basis via an umbrella company)
- 24 month duration

**Salary**: £280.00-£320.00 per day
