**About the Role**
This role is part time over at least three days each week covering from both 8am to 6.30pm. We are open to discuss this further at interview. This role is for a minimum of 20 hours but with additional hours potentially available in the surgery.
- Process all relevant prescriptions and repeat prescriptions as authorised by GP's and the prescribing team as appropriate, in accordance with the good practice principles of the Dispensing Services Quality Scheme;
- Ensure that all medicines and appliances dispensed are checked against the prescription, checking with the authorising doctor or duty doctor with any queries regarding appropriateness, dose or dosing instructions;
- Collect all due prescription charges in full and ensure that the patient declaration on the reverse of the FP10 is fully completed;
- Process hospital medication letters;
- Process Dossett Boxes;
- Manage ordering stock and stock control;
- Preparation of monthly returns;
- Answer and deal with dispensary phone enquiries;
- Monitor patients' exemption status;
- Sort and dispose of unwanted/returned medication;
- Any other duties to assist in the smooth day to day running of the dispensary and surgery as directed by the either the dispensary lead or practice manager.
If you are an experienced dispenser looking for an exciting new role, then we'd love to hear from you. You will have the following skills and experience:
- You will have at least a Diploma Level 2/3 Dispensary or equivalent Pharmacy Services qualification;
- Previous dispensary and pharmacy experience;
- Excellent clinical and medication knowledge;
- Understanding and experience of working as a dispenser, ideally in GP practice setting;
- The commitment to continue to learn new clinical skills and develop your career;
- The confidence to work as part of a busy GP multi-disciplinary practice team and using your own initiative in decision making;
- The ability to be adaptable and flexible in your approach;
- Excellent patient facing inter-personal communication skills;
- The confidence and ability to work independently, as this role requires the ability to work alone in the dispensary;
- The ability to multitask, adapting according to business and patient need;
- System 1 knowledge would be preferable;
- Confidentiality and discretion are essential.

Lakenheath Surgery is an established dispensing practice, with 5400 registered patients.
**Pay and Benefits**
Equal to Band 3 NHS pay.
