**Job Purpose**:
To work in close partnership with the Club’s Crickhowell Co-Ordinator to recruit, support and co-ordinate the work of volunteers, with a specific focus on our enthusiastic Shop Volunteer Team. The role may involve occasional weekend working.

**Key Work Areas and Responsibilities**:
**1. Volunteer Recruitment Support and Management**

a. Be the first point of contact for all volunteer enquiries, ensuring that the process moves quickly when potential volunteers come forward.

b. Develop and manage a volunteer induction programme using and updating (when required) the Volunteer Policy, Handbook and role descriptions.

c. Ensure that agreed policies and processes (including dynamic Risk Assessments, Health and Safety and Safeguarding) are in place and followed and that statutory requirements are met - within all volunteer settings.

d. Organise skills development/training courses and events when required.

e. Operate within Dial a Ride’s code of conduct, policies, procedures, and controls - including safeguarding and lone working.

**2. Dial a Ride Shop**
- The Shop generates essential core income for Dial a Ride - it’s essential that volunteers are supported to run the shop efficiently. _

a. Recruit, motivate, train and retain Shop volunteers, promoting a happy working environment, ensuring that their skills and experience are used to the full.

b. Ensure that high standards of customer service are delivered at all times.

c. Support and empower the shop team to run the shop on a day-to-day basis, ensuring that the team feels valued, motivated, informed, and supported.

d. Ensure that shop rotas are in place, maintaining cover during agreed trading times.

e. Ensure that Shop specific health and safety policies are followed, along with guidance on what can be sold and how recycling and waste is managed.

f. Hold shop keys and ensure that security procedures are in place and followed.

g. Work with the General Manager to ensure that the shop is well-maintained, and repairs carried out promptly.

**3. Publicity & Promotion**

a. Develop and implement a volunteer service promotion plan, regularly reviewing and updating it.

b. Develop active working partnerships with local groups and service providers to ensure that they are aware of the services offered.

**4. Communication & Engagement**

a. Attend regular meetings with the General Manager to review progress.

b. Attend Trustee meetings from time to time.

c. Promote the service and work of Dial a Ride.

**5. Training & Development**

a. Attend any relevant Volunteer Management and professional training as required.

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**

The post-holder will be able to demonstrate that they are self-motivated and passionate about working with volunteers. They will be an excellent communicator with a strong background of team working. Experience of volunteering is essential.

The post-holder will be practical, confident, and cheerful with a can-do attitude.

**ESSENTIAL**

Experience of working with and supporting volunteers.

Excellent people management skills including strong leadership and motivational skills.

Able to work effectively and collaboratively with others.

Experience of actively promoting a service or organisation - demonstrable ability to use social and other media.

Able to build & maintain positive working relationships.

Experience of writing risk assessments and assessing health and safety / safeguarding risks - or a willingness to attend training.

Excellent organisational skills and able to work under pressure.

Able to be self-motivated with a flexible, positive, and resilient attitude.

Empathy with and understanding of the aims, values & culture of Dial a Ride.

Good IT skills - able to use Microsoft Office programmes competently

**DESIRABLE**

Experience in the retail sector - paid or unpaid

Current, clean driving licence

Local knowledge of Brecon and the wider area.

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: From £13.45 per hour

Expected hours: 15 per week
