**Job Purpose**:

- To provide expert medical care, leadership, and clinical expertise within the NHS trust.
- To deliver high-quality patient care, diagnosis, and treatment across various specialties.
- To support and contribute to the development and delivery of healthcare services in line with NHS priorities and standards.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide expert clinical care, diagnosis, and treatment to patients within the relevant specialty area.
- Lead and participate in the assessment and management of patients, ensuring timely and appropriate interventions.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings, case discussions, and clinical decision-making processes.

**Leadership and Management**:

- Provide clinical leadership and guidance to junior medical staff, including Specialty Doctors, Junior Doctors, and other healthcare professionals.
- Contribute to service planning, development, and implementation of clinical guidelines, protocols, and pathways.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and research projects to enhance patient care and service delivery.

**Teaching and Training**:

- Provide supervision, mentorship, and teaching to junior doctors, medical students, and other healthcare professionals.
- Contribute to the education and training programs within the NHS trust, including formal teaching sessions and clinical skills training.

**Research and Audit**:

- Engage in clinical research activities, including study design, data collection, analysis, and dissemination of findings.
- Participate in clinical audits and research projects aimed at improving patient outcomes, service efficiency, and quality of care.

**Professional Development**:

- Maintain full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and adhere to regulatory standards and guidelines.
- Participate in continuing professional development (CPD) activities to enhance clinical knowledge, skills, and professional competence.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent).
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
- Higher specialty training and relevant qualifications in the respective specialty area (if applicable).
- Membership or Fellowship of the relevant Royal College or professional body (if applicable).
- Previous experience working as a Consultant or equivalent within the NHS or similar healthcare setting.

**Additional Information**:

- This position is offered on a locum basis, with a fixed-term contract for a specified duration.
- Salary and benefits will be in line with NHS pay scales and terms for Consultant-grade doctors

Contract length: 12 months

Pay: £100.00-£125.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45 per week
