The Yorkshire Ambulance Service are seeking experienced 1st level line managers to manage various assigned locations and dispersed staff in support of our AVP and cleaning provision needs for the Trust throughout the night

allocated base location will be York Administration Building

The vacancy is a relief line role; which will require flexibility to cover your colleagues/team’s leave and absence along with weekends and Bank holidays, supporting as and when requested dedicated AVP sites; should relief support not be required; then the advertised core assigned hours will be allocated:
Week 1-2 Monday to Thursday 20:00 - 07:00

Week 3 Monday to Thursday 15.30- 01:30

Week 4 Weekend Working

Any hours between 20:00 and 06:00 will provide unsociable payments at 30% Monday through to Saturday and 60% uplift for all hours worked Sundays.

**Duties to include**:
The post holder will be required to perform a wide range of first level line manager duties, associated to the provision of the Ancillary - AVP Service cleaning, inclusive of team-based working and the cover of Vehicle cleaning duties in staff absence as and when required.

Post holders will ensure a high standard of service delivery is maintained in relation to the cleaning provision requirements of your assigned sites and staff

The post holder will be required to perform a wide range of first level line manager duties associated to the provision of AVP Operations.

Post holders will ensure a high standard of AVP service delivery is maintained in relation to the Ancillary-AVP provision at any given center or location.

Primary duties will include the day to day site supervisory duties and this includes the line management and supervision of Ancillary-AVP, AVP,MVC & DVC operational staff, the monitoring/auditing of all AVP,MVC & DVC activities including equipment checking/testing, re-stocking, effective Infection Prevention and Control and acceptable levels of cleanliness to meet the current Trust standards.

To build and develop strong working relationships with all users of the Ambulance Vehicle Preparation Services.

These post offers an average 37.5 hour per week contract based on a 24 hour, 7 day a week relief line Rota system including Bank Holidays, weekends and nights.

The role is to Line manage/Supervise the Ancillary-AVP provision, the AVP/MVC/DVC Operative staff and the activities of preparing our front-line operational vehicles.

You will need to build professional relationships with all other service uses and empower your team to follow this relationship development.

The working days and times are dependent upon current provision required to meet operational/patient demand. These contracted working times also attract an unsocial hour’s payment.

Post holders will develop a one team environment, nurturing, supporting and empowering our staff to achieve the required skills to meet service needs and encourage staff to engage in personal development.

Post holders will ensure all practices and procedures are maintained to Trust standards.

Post holders will be required to work with minimum supervision, flexibly and use their initiative in decision making.

You must be reliable and conscientious with a good eye for detail and be able to work individually and as part of a small team.

Competency to use IT equipment including computer systems, tablets, barcode readers and associated software packages is essential in this role.

Previous line management/supervisory experience is essential; AVP training will be provided in regard to specific AVP activities.

Our training package includes NVQ, CMI and NCFE Learning and Development in Leadership and Infection Prevention and Control.
