**The Role**:
An opportunity has arisen within the REAL Alliance Project of VolkerRail Major Projects for a Safe System of Work (SSOW) Planner.

The REAL Alliance was formed in 2014 and is responsible for the delivery of Network Rail’s East Coast Main Line Power Supply Upgrade Project. The alliance comprises of Network Rail, Siemens, J Murphy and Sons, Jacobs, SYSTRA and VolkerRail.

REAL has been created to deliver two key projects - power supply upgrade of the East Coast Main Line (ECML) from London Kings Cross to Bawtry under PSU1 and the power supply upgrade from Bawtry to Portobello under PSU2.

**Key Accountabilities**:
Reporting to a Senior Operations Planner you will assist with the successful and safe delivery of a wide range of projects.

Key duties will include:

- To provide SSOW planning support to the Project Managers & their teams on the project.
- To support the project team in providing the project with compliant Safe System of Work Packs in accordance with the relevant Standards.
- To ensure that the ONTRAC software tool is utilised in accordance with the project requirements to create SSOW Plans.
- Review Weekly WONs as well as upcoming drafts to create SSOW Packs in readiness for Planned works.
- Responsible for the production and upkeep of the ‘Safe Work Pack Tracker’ in Teams.
- The Safe Work Planner will be responsible for creating SSOW Plans in accordance set out by the Responsible Manager.
- Will book project required Line blockages maintain the relevant trackers in teams.

**Skills & Experience**:

- Previous experience of working in similar role
- Knowledge of operational railway environment
- Proficient in the use of Rail Hub and On-Trac Connect web system
- Hold PTS & SSOW Planner competence
- A positive and enthusiastic approach to challenges and problems.
- Experience and awareness of Tool Box Talk
- Ability to operate effectively in the site and office environment.
- Good communication and organisational skills with a collaborative style.
