Summary

Historic England are excited to be seeking an Human Resources and Resourcing Apprentice to join their established and dynamic Human Resources and Resourcing Team. This is a rare opportunity to gain a recognised qualification in a supportive environment, working for an organisation which looks after England’s unique historic environment.

In addition, you will spend time with other areas of the HR Team as a whole, as and when required.

As part of this role you will complete your Level 3 HR Support Apprenticeship. This opportunity is offered as a 21 month Fixed Term Contract, and will be based in the Swindon office. The roles may suit online and remote working / learning but will require visiting the office to work with the team at least two days a week.

What you will be doing

You will be working towards completion of your Level 3 HR Support Apprenticeship, a well-recognised professional qualification.

80% of your time will be spent in the workplace, and 20% of your time will be spent off the job, completing a training programme specially designed for your apprenticeship with a recognised training provider.

You will complete a range of professional skills courses that will develop your overall career development. You will be supervised by a line manager as well as a variety of staff including your wider team, a personal learning mentor and our early careers team.

You will also be encouraged to have regular contact with other apprentices to share your experiences with each other through networking events throughout your apprenticeship.

Your main duties will include, but not be limited to:
Carrying out the full range of HR administrative processes including those related to administration of our pension schemes, new starters and leavers, contract variations, external references and new starter reference requests, pensions administration and sickness absence.

Utilising, updating and maintaining the HR System ensuring people data is accurate and changes are processed efficiently.

You will assist the HR Performance Team Leader and HR Shared Services Manager, on a rota basis, with the production of regular and ad-hoc management information and SLA reports to meet business needs.

Assisting the Early Careers and Resourcing Team with administration duties such as uploading job adverts, adding selection and interview questions onto our in-house Applied recruitment system.

Monitoring and responding to any queries in the central Resourcing Inbox and providing an excellent customer service at all times.

Researching and promoting our career opportunities across social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and other channels

Creating and maintaining inspiring content such as real-life stories and blogs for our career pages and partnerships

Writing job adverts from scratch ensuring that the tone of the voice and messages align to our brand and attract a diverse audience.

Inputting recruitment data into reports and excel spreadsheets and providing data to the wider teams.

What we are looking for
- You are well-organised with excellent attention to detail.
- A great team worker with the ability to get along easily with others.
- Experience of using Microsoft Office in particular Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- You can demonstrate good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- You are curious and have a desire to continuously learn.
