We have a fantastic opportunity for a** General Foreperson** **to join our talented **Highways Team** on the **M1/M62 CSB scheme in Leeds.** We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team and help us deliver a successful project. This role will see you providing supervision and guidance of the works and control of a team comprising section foremen, gangers and direct labour force. You will also provide supervision and control of the works of Subcontractors.

**What you'll be doing**
- Identify future requirements for setting out and communicate to Engineering team to ensure production is maintained and milestones are not delayed.
- Ensure that the workforce / Gangers have sufficient and correct information in terms of specification, workmanship and finish.
- Communicate the weekly programme and targets to the workforce.
- Input into the production of Work Package Plans and Risk Assessments.
- Assess material wastage allowances and implement appropriate improvement actions.
- Provide suggestions and recommendations for Temporary Works solutions.
- Identify potential hazards and proactively implement actions and controls.
- Ensure plant is adequate for the task prior to being used.
- Monitor the performance of plant operators.
- Carry out Safety & Environment Tours.
- Ensure that the Environmental Policy and appropriate parts of Environmental Procedures are effectively communicated to the workforce, particularly to those engaged on activities that have been identified as likely to have a significant environmental impact.

**Who we're looking for**
- Previous experience of managing the works of direct labour and subcontractors. (essential)
- Capable of taking ownership of the works or a section of the works from start to finish, including the handover.
- Able to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work to ensure that these are followed accurately.
- Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicate outcomes.
- Holds a CSCS Card
