**Senior Mechanical (Rotating Equipment) Engineer**

Our client, a leading independent Oil & Gas operator, based in Wytch Farm, Wareham, Dorset, are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical (Rotating Equipment) Engineer to join their Engineering team, on a full time, permanent basis.

This is an important on-site role that is required to support the asset Support Engineers and Maintenance personnel with ensuring the maintenance, reliability and efficiency of all the rotating equipment on the asset is maintained at the highest levels.

The range of rotating equipment includes:

- Pumps
- Gas engines
- Compressors
- Fans
- Beam pumps
- PCPs (Progressive Cavity Pumps).

This is an ideal role for an established mechanical or rotating equipment engineer, looking to further their responsibilities and accountabilities but may also suit someone who has traditionally worked on the tools but has a strong technical mind and demonstrableexperience with working on rotating equipment.

This position will report to the Engineering & Integrity Manager and operates on a Monday - Friday basis.

**Key Responsibilities Include**:

- Responsible for developing, implementing and optimising asset wide condition and performance monitoring programmes for rotating equipment.
- To compile and analyse measures and KPIs as required to interpret maintenance performance and reliability data and make recommendations to facilitate asset wide improvement programmes.
- Support Mechanical Support Engineer in optimising equipment availability and analysing plant breakdowns with a view to recommending actions for improved performance.
- To identify and initiate the implementation of reliability driven improvement projects for rotating equipment.
- Provide support to Mechanical Support Engineer to manage overarching maintenance support programmes in place for critical machines (e.g. Power Gen Gas engines, main gas compressor, refridge compressors, Produced Water Injection pumps, Beam Pumps, ProgressiveCavity Pumps).
- Participate and provide engineering input to equipment, environmental or safety related incident investigations.
- Represent the machinery equipment discipline with respect to project scoping and commissioning in liaison with the onsite Projects Team.
- Be responsible for identifying and maintaining the machinery related Engineering Standards/Technical Practices and Equipment Maintenance Strategies.
- Support the training and development of technicians, specifically with respect to providing knowledge and information to maximise craft technician utilisation and skills.
- Support the training and development of area operating technicians, specifically with respect to plant operating and basic care requirements.
- Be able to support other mechanical engineers on site as required with resolving critical mechanical discipline issues that arise.

**Qualifications & Experience Required**:

- Minimum of at least 5 years or more experience as a rotating equipment specialist. (Experience should ideally be in the oil, gas or petrochemical industry, but not essential if have the right skill set and attitude to learn and adapt to Oil and Gas requirements.)
- Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent rotating equipment qualification - ideally also with Chartered status or working very closely towards achieving Chartered status.

Applicants must be IT proficient with the ability to view and process data, KPIs and other relevant information. You will have knowledge of vibration monitoring or other performance monitoring related hardware and software packages.

Being a strong communicator with a high level of initiative is essential for this role.
