**Job Purpose Summary**

To provide a reliable and courteous delivery service to customers with safety a top priority. Provide a communication link between customers & staff. Operate & maintain assigned vehicle(s) & required company records.

**General Statement of Duties**:
Duties include operating & maintaining transportation vehicles with a focus on safety & customer courtesy.
Performing daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections with minor maintenance tasks on the vehicles when necessary; fuel vehicles; ensuring that periodic scheduled vehicle maintenance is completed and reported; preparing trip reports; preparing accident and incident reports as necessary: and providing other services as requested by management when not engaged in transportation service.

**Essential Duties**
Drive vehicles with capacities under three tons in order to transport materials to and from specified destinations
Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as oil, water, tyres, lights, and brakes in order to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition.
Load and unload trucks, correctly and ensure material and accompanying paperwork are accurate.
Obey traffic laws, and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.
Read maps, and follow written and verbal geographic directions.
Verify the contents of inventory loads against delivery notes.
Maintain records such as vehicle logs, delivery and receipts logs in accordance with procedures
Present bills and receipts, and collect payments for goods delivered or loaded.
Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles.
Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to bases or other vehicles, using mobile telephone.

**Other Important Duties**
Warehouse duties to cover when required.

**Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
Ability to drive a vehicle safely and appropriately, including ability to read and interpret road signs in
English; ability to read, understand, and adhere to the rules and regulations of the DVLA: ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; ability to establish effective professional relationships with customers, co-workers, and upper level staff and employees; ability to prepare concise and accurate records and reports; ability to recognize vehicle maintenance needs; ability to perform minor vehicle repairs; skilled in reasoning skills to interpret policies and procedures, maps, and route directions.

**Salary**: £23,000.00-£23,500.00 per year
