TLTP are recruiting for an SEN Teachers who can teach pupils who have Autism. There are no severe behaviour issues, all students are very bright and capable.
With their bespoke curriculum, specialist teaching and high levels of social and emotional support, they create fulfilling educational experiences that enable each student to thrive.
They offer access to a range of qualifications, apprenticeships and employability programmes, so that by the time the students leave them, they are equipped with the skills, experience and opportunities they need for success in further education, training oremployment.
Many of their students arrive with communication difficulties or anxieties that have created significant barriers to learning. They take the time to understand each young person's individual needs, so they can better support them in achieving their full potential.
This specialist school offers specialist education programmes based on the National Curriculum, each personalised to take account of abilities, interests and needs. This is a 30-place secondary/post 16 leaning centre supporting young people aged 11 16 who havedifficulties with communication and social interaction, typically associated with Asperger's Syndrome and Autism, and challenging behaviour.
Key Duties:
Ensure that pupils are properly safeguarded and understand how to make a referral to the schools Designated Safeguarding Officer
Deliver high quality teaching and learning to children and young people with Asperger's Syndrome, Specific Learning Difficulties and Complex Needs, and who may present with some challenging behaviours.
Be responsible for the high quality of teaching and learning of all pupils who are assigned to the post holder, having responsibility for their progress, welfare and outcomes.
Supervise the work of any support staff who are assigned to work with the post holder's pupils.
To take responsibility for implementing school policies and practice, including those relating to safeguarding and equality of opportunity.
Passion to work with students who have communication difficulties or anxieties
QTS or QTLS
Provide leadership across the school in relation to safeguarding and student transition, to include:
monitoring quality and standards in relation to attendance and safeguarding
contributing to school planning and self-evaluation
providing advice to other teachers and support staff
advising SLT and DSL in relation to any safeguarding concerns relating to individuals or specific policies/practices
contribute to appropriate professional development in relation to transition and safeguarding.

SEN Teachers will have the opportunity to work in this outstanding school with an outstanding reputation in special education expertise, curriculum and resources.

SEN Teachers will be working with a secondary aged pupils who have ASD.
SEN Teachers are given opportunities to succeed through the use of highly personalised individual education plans to help support their students.
The Therapeutic Education Department works closely with the nurses, doctors and therapists at the centre and with a wide range of professionals in the community.
This role starts ASAP
Special needs teaching assistants will need excellent behaviour management skills
Be able to build positive relationships with young people and staff
Good knowledge/experience working with children with Autism within an Special needs environment
Special needs teaching assistants will need experience working with secondary students
Special needs teaching assistants will be collaborating with the classroom teacher to define appropriate activities for the pupils in relation to the curriculum
Assessing children who have long or short-term learning difficulties and working with colleagues to identify individual pupils' special needs
Liaising with other professionals, such as social workers, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists and educational psychologists
