**Overview of role**:
**Company**: Allied Bakeries**Location: Walthamstow**
- To assist the site Controls Engineer and Shift Engineers on all matters relating to site control and automation systems in order to continuously improve performance & reliability, deal timely with breakdowns, complete projects and reduce operating costs to a minimum. To work flexibly depending on the needs of the site. To be a site champion for energy reduction using controls & automation, and all data available to continually reduce energy consumption.**Key Accountabilities**:

- To work safely to all company policies and procedures and within HASAWA / EAW Regulations.
- To work as directed by the Controls Engineer and site management team to continuously improve performance & reliability through Controls & Automation systems.
- To assist the shift engineering team in the event of a breakdown in relation to Controls & Automation or electrical systems.
- To work on projects including installation, modification, upgrade, commissioning, and development as directed.
- To be a site champion for energy reduction identifying energy saving initiatives proactively and working as directed by the Controls Engineer or site management team.
- To ensure all work carried out is correctly documented i.e., EAM work orders correctly completed, technical documents such as manuals / drawings / SOPs are updated timely.
- Deputise for the Controls Engineer when required (but only against any tasks where competency has been signed off by Controls Engineer).
- Maintain and update skillset relating to Controls & Automation to ensure it remains current.

**The Right Person**:
**Essential**
- Time served electrical / controls apprenticeship.
- Strong computer literacy with experience of typical computerised maintenance management systems.
- Sound knowledge of Electricity at Work regulations, permit to work procedures and lock out / tag out procedures.
- PLC literate, able to make program modifications ideally on Mitsubishi software.
- SCADA literate, able to make modifications and interrogate SCADA systems.
- Excellent communication skills across all levels.
- Ability to manage own workload within set targets and to work consistently to high standards and prioritize tasks according to workload.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyse large amounts of data.

**Advantageous**
- Electrical / Controls HND or degree.
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (CIEH Level 2) IOSH or equivalent.
- Understanding of baking process.
- IOSH health & safety certified
