What you'll do
As the Category Planner for Meat, Fish & Poultry at Sainsbury's, your main responsibility will be to drive performance by working with stakeholders across the business to build, implement, and optimise customer-facing events and the food strategy within your category. This role requires you to have a deep understanding of the market and commercial dynamics, as you will guide the evolution of the value strategy, build an optimised promotional plan, and ensure accurate summaries of future and past promotional plans are maintained. Additionally, you will be the customer planning representative for the category, translating insights into viable commercial opportunities that drive return on investment while considering the end-to-end customer journey. You will also be responsible for owning the value simplicity initiative and staying updated on the category's performance through market intelligence sources. Excellent communication and influence skills, strong organisation capabilities, quick decision-making ability, and data interpretation skills will be crucial to excel in this role.

As a Category Planner for our Meat, Fish & Poultry division, you are a highly skilled professional with a strong commercial understanding and a keen eye for detail. You thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing market environment and excel at reacting quickly to changing market conditions while managing diverse priorities. Your ability to build strong relationships and your expertise in analysing data, market intelligence, and consumer trends enable you to drive performance and deliver value through optimised promotional plans and category activation strategies. With your excellent influencing and communication skills, you effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, ensuring the delivery of high-quality plans and contributing to the overall success of our Win in Food strategy. Your strong analytical skills, organisational abilities, and commitment to continuous improvement make you a valuable asset to our Category Planning team.
