Position Overview:
Our Client is an 8 bedded residential home in Holywood, providing services for 8 adults who have Learning Disabilities and associated complex needs. As part of the eight-person service, they also provide a ‘respite’ facility. As a community Driver, you will be responsible for facilitating social outreach for residents by providing transport to attend daycentre, appointments and other outings as planned.
You will play a key part in promoting independence and ensuring that all residents have access to the services they need.
The Job:
30 hours per week
Monday
- Friday 930am-330pm
£20,048 (pro rata per annum)
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely and punctually transporting individuals to day centre, appointments and outings.
- Ensure all travel arrangements are prioritised.
- Assisting passengers with boarding, securing mobility aids, and ensuring their comfort during the journey.
- Maintain a professional relationship with service users.
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality, trust and adhere to GDPR requirements
- Ensure vehicle inspections are completed
- Ensure vehicle is maintained and cleaned to a high standard
**Requirements**:
- Category D1 Minibus licence (this does not include licences issued with D1 category nfhr) and driver CPC licence or willing to complete CPC on appointment
- Friendly and patient demeanour with good communication skills.
- Experience of working in a similar environment providing transport/driving duties.
- Ability to assist service users with mobility needs.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong commitment to safety.
