**Salary details**:5-point scale within GLT Support Staff range 1B £20,297 FTE- £21,223 FTE according to experience and qualifications

**Contract type**:Temporary/Permanent

**Hours**:30 hours, split shift preferable (7 - 10am, 3 - 6pm) but hours can be flexible

**About the role**:
Main Responsibilities and Tasks

Premises Management

Monitor day to day maintenance, repair and cleaning of the school and where necessary undertake repairs or escalate to the Multi-Site Manager
Develop an appropriate monitoring schedule to ensure that the school site is kept clean, safe and in a good state of repair and stocked with all necessary supplies
Monitor the performance of all contractors to ensure a clean, tidy and well-maintained school environment at all times
Read and be aware of all school policies, risk assessments and procedures
Be aware of location of essential services including water isolation values, fire points, drainage systems, and gas and power supplies
To carry out any and all PPM and maintenance tasks as requested by the Multi-Site Manager
Carry out general porterage duties, such as the movement of furniture and equipment around the school

Cleaning and Welfare

Monitor and ensure the site is kept clean, tidy and attractive to ensure the activities of the school can take place in an environment suited to learning
Liaise with cleaning teams to ensure that all areas are maintained to high standards
Ensure that at the start of each day the school has been properly stocked with all necessary supplies for the day, including hand towels, soap, toilet paper etc
Undertake ad-hoc cleaning duties, such as litter picking, disposal of waste and cleaning tasks in the absence of a cleaner
Ensure that all tools and equipment used in your duties, are kept clean and in good working order

Security:
Maintain the security of the school and to be a key holder for the site and be flexible for call outs as required
Lock and un-lock the school as and when required or directed by the Multi-Site Manager
Ensure that all windows, doors and gates are in good working condition and are / can be shut and locked appropriately
Carry out any maintenance checks or PPM checks as required and directed by the Multi-Site Manager
When locking the school, ensure that all windows, lights, doors and appliances are all closed and switched off
Escalate any concerns or issues immediately to the Multi-Site Manager

Qualifications:

- GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths

**Experience**:

- Some experience of caretaking or premises and property management
- Be able and willing to undertake small DIY projects and painting etc

Skills/Knowledge:

- To be able to carry out DIY and handyperson general repairs without guidance
- Ability to lift and carry items
- Ability to work at heights
- Ability to manage own work effectively
- Ability to carry out health and safety checks and maintain relevant records
- Good IT skills - able to use a tablet and app for recording information

Personal qualities:

- Commitment to working in a school setting and improving the quality of education and wellbeing

of children and staff
- Willingness to work as part of a team
