We are looking to appoint a dedicated, skilled and ambitious professional to work within our deaf support department.

This vacancy is not suitable for job share.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference, to take an active role in contributing to the learning and support of students who have additional special education needs, principally around hearing loss, so they can participate fully and positively in learning and school life.

Ø An ability to communicate with our students in the SERF using a total communication approach which includes BSL;
Ø A passion for supporting and managing young people that goes beyond mere qualifications;
Ø Previous experience of working with secondary age children in Education, Health or social services;
Ø Experience of working with families/carers and students accessing available support services;
Ø Knowledge of procedures, practices and techniques for behaviour management;
Ø Willingness to care for students where medical needs must be addressed, with appropriate training;
Ø Experience of dealing with emotional situations where students may become distressed;
Ø An absolute commitment to achieving the highest of standards.
