**Main Purpose of Role**
- Active participation in controlling the financial performance of the business operations, this includes monitoring and analysing performances, budgets, assisting with tenders and pricing, generation and follow up on financial reports including relevant KPIs for each business and monitoring and challenging NWC.
- Provide financial guidance and support to the business and branch managers and become a trusted financial partner.
- Involvement in all areas of remit of the UK Financial Services department to include Management & external reporting, forecasting & budgeting, financial risk & controls, Taxation, Treasury, systems implementation, financial training, acquisitions, integrations, audit, project financial evaluation and procurement and all other related areas that may become under the control of the department.
**Key Accountabilities**
- Delivery of timely, accurate and relevant monthly management reports and forecasts.
- To produce other financial information and analysis which supports commercial decision making. This task includes liaising with fellow Finance team members and business teams to ensure that all other inputs into the monthly accounting cycle are delivered in a timely manner.
- Assist in the timely and accurate reporting of the Group’s financial and other management information via Oracle and the HFM group reporting tool.
- Work closely with the Business teams and instill across the team meticulous attention to detail, understanding of financial risk and a ‘continuous improvement’ approach. Provide ad hoc financial training as required..
- Timely preparation of monthly reports and reconciliations of the Group’s balance sheet accounts, to include notification to the UK Finance Director / Financial Controller of any major problems/issues.
- To assist the finance element of the UK’s MIP (Management Improvement Plan)
- Provide support for ad hoc project work such as site investigations, contract costing, pricing, acquisitions and integration.
- To develop productive relationships with operational managers and help and/or manage internal financial training courses and Oracle Module training, with a view to developing and raising the financial and commercial** **awareness across the business.
- Work closely with operational managers where appropriate to analyse operational performance.
- Assist with the Budget and forecast process including the inputs into both HFM and Oracle and regular monitoring of variance reports.
- Responsible for accurate and timely UK tax reporting on imports and exports.
- Assist the Financial Controller with the annual external audit, external tax visits and any financial internal control audits carried out by the SGS Group.
- The completion of all other tasks associated with the efficient and timely delivery of the responsibilities of the UK Financial Services Department.
**Qualifications**:
Essential
- Accountancy qualification preferable
- Full Driving Licence for use in the UK
- Appreciation of standard commercial contracts, pricing models and accounting standards.
- Excellent oral and written communication and relationship building skills.
- Able to work on own initiative or part of a team.
- Able to demonstrate a commitment to customer services for both external and internal customers.
Desirable
- Good working knowledge of all Microsoft products, particularly Excel
- Knowledge of Oracle and HFM systems
