**Role**: GROW Key Worker
**Hours**: 4 day week (Mon-Thur.) 8am - 5pm or 8.30am - 5.30pm
**Location**: Office base Derry or Strabane office
**Responsible to**: GROW Partnership Co-Ordinator
**Job Purpose**:Working alongside colleagues in the GROW team in 21 Training you will be responsible for recruiting and supporting economically inactive participants on the GROW programme, funded under the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area.
**Key Responsibilities and Tasks**
**Marketing, Recruitment & Engagement**
- Market and promote the GROW programme at key events and through relevant channels
- Use assessment (recruitment) documentation to enrol eligible participants
- Work with other team members as required to ensure participants complete their journey on the programme and successfully exit to employment or other interventions
**Increase Skills (Participants)**
- Work with the team to ensure high quality training (accredited and non-accredited) is developed and available to meet participant’s needs
- Identify local needs which will dictate the type of training required by participants
**Support Participants into Employment**
- Undertake direct work with participants to promote their positive development, this could include face to face sessions, group work/ training or other suitable means
- Ensure all interventions (external training or other costs) which require funding are approved by the GROW Co-ordinator and are within budget
- Develop links with local employers to support pathways for participants into sustainable employment
- Develop career support / family support plans to deliver required outcomes / interventions and ensure they are kept up to date
- Deliver one to one employability mentoring to support participants into employment
- Identify and address any barriers faced by participants and work to develop solutions with the wider team
- Identify new/ innovative delivery plans to meet the needs of participants
- Signpost participants to a range of local and NI wide organisations who can assist them on their journey into employment
- Effectively manage a caseload of participants ensuring they spend up to a maximum of 6 months on the programme so that resources can be effectively managed (typically participants will be on the programme for 4 months)
**Quality, Compliance & Governance**
- Ensure the Operational Guidance provided by DHLUC is followed
- Record all participant data on PIMs
- Capture all positive environmental outcomes in the delivery of GROW
- Implement and adhere to the company’s policies and procedures
- Co-operate with the Grow Co-Ordinator and Network Personnel on all internal audits on procedures and finance and ensure all required documentation is available
- Support the Finance / Management Team completing claims and administration for Network Personnel and DHLUC
- Ensure all participant interactions, documentation etc. are confidential and records are stored securely
- Provide accurate and verifiable statistical data for reporting purposes
**Other Duties**
- Carry out administration on the programme as required
- Provide cover for team members in their absence
- Ensure accurate and up to date information on all activities conducted is maintained
- Any other duties as assigned by the management team

Minimum **Level 3 qualification** (or equivalent) in Advice & Guidance, Mentoring, Coaching, Counselling or **demonstrable equivalent**
5 GCSE or equivalent incl. English, Maths, & ICT

**Experience**
Minimum 2 years’ experience of sourcing training and /or employment opportunities for those unemployed or disengaged with education or training
Experience of completing assessment of needs, using SMART objectives to develop and agree a career action plan to deliver interventions within education, training and employment, on a one to one or group basis.
Experience of designing and delivering needs-led provision in the context of Employability
Experience of working to and understanding Safeguarding policies, procedures and legislation, working in a multi-disciplinary environment responding to needs of children and adults at risk
Understanding of good practice, preventative measures and interventions to overcome issues within disadvantaged communities
