**The Post**
The post holder will enhance and develop the marketing and communications function of the Sports Development Service (SDS) that contributes to the objective of increasing participation in sport and physical activity by more students, staff and community users. In addition, the role will be responsible for the implementation of more effective business and marketing strategies to achieve improved income generation.

**Essential Criteria**
Qualifications/Education
- Third level degree, preferably in a marketing related discipline or evidence of significant relevant experience
- A track record of relevant CPD throughout career to date

Experience
- Experience of working in a marketing related field
- Experience of implementing offline and digital marketing activity
- Experience of creating and maintaining brand guidelines
- Experience within a communications/internal communication/public relations role
- Experience working with the Adobe Creative Suite platforms (InDesign, Premiere Pro, Photoshop)
- Managing staff in a rapidly changing environment

Knowledge
- Sound knowledge of social media digital functions, including organise and paid-for activity
- Demonstrable capability of a range of effective marketing activities/avenues
- Understanding of effective benchmarking and market research

**Desirable Criteria**
Qualifications/Education
- Post Graduate qualification

Experience
- Experience within the sports and leisure industry
- Experience of working with a Leisure Management System or extensive customer database/booking system
- Experience of using website CMS platforms (Terminal4, Wordpress)

Knowledge
- Understanding of the HE sector and the current challenges therein
- Knowledge of HE Sport and/or high-performance sport
- Knowledge of key sports and leisure services and programming
- for example: memberships, fitness classes, swimming, personal training, sports coaching

Other
- A passion for sport, physical activity and wellbeing
